The ‘Lieteberg’ is one of the 5 local gateways into the National Park. You can start your visit at the visitor centre, where you can find tourist information and buy entry tickets for the “barefoot path” or the insect museum.

“Barefoot path”:  At the ‘Lieteberg’ you are treated to a special experience: a stimulating hike on the “barefoot path”. Feel with your feet, offer your senses new stimuli: wood, stone, woodchips, grass, loam and water, all in a controlled environment , 2 km long. Ofcourse, going barefoot is obligatory. You can also admire the vista from the 18 m high wooden watchtower (entrance only barefoot) or you can lose yourself in the labyrinth. Afterwards, you can enjoy something to drink, or a piece of our delicious ‘Limburgse Vlaai’ (pie typical for Limburg)  in the cafeteria.

Insect museum: Gateway ‘Lieteberg’ introduces you to the micro world: the fascinating world of crawling critters around us. You can learn more about the different techniques used by beekeepers, or take the educating “insect path”.

By car: On the E314,take exit 32, follow the N744 direction ‘Zutendaal’, at the roundabout follow the N77 direction ‘Zutendaal’, continue straight at the crossroad, then take the 1st right, and follow the signs: ‘Lieteberg’
